This course is an attempt to identify, characterize and delineate emerging new countervailing epistemologies in the wake of global neoliberalism, that is to say the rise of the financial “corporate-banking” class since the mid 1970s. This course will unfold in the following three ways: (a) isolating the concept of “hegemony” (a la Antonio Gramsci and other recent theorists) and neoliberalism; (b) engaging world-views from within the walls of prison; and (c) constructing a way of actualizing subversive practices and epistemologies into everyday practices.
